Breakfast
is always a special treat at Capps Cove. Your day begins with
aromas of coffee, bacon and biscuits awaiting you in the dining room,
where all guests gather for a hearty home-cooked breakfast that will
tide you over until dinnertime. In the spring and summer, breakfast may
be served on the screened porch.
Breakfast
at Capps Cove changes daily. You may have eggs, bacon, hash browns, stone
ground speckled grits, biscuits, bagels, scones (right) and English muffins
as a main course; but it won't stop there — a bowl of berries and cream,
berry-stuffed blintzes or crepes will complement the meal.
Other special Capps Cove recipes include basil potato frittata, crème
brulee French toast (above), baked German pancakes, omelets, cheesy
potato casserole, tomato pie (below) and a dish called a "naked
cowboy" that's
simply indescribable.
The innkeepers grow their own herbs and make their own jellies and
jams, using fruit and berries purchased from local farms
when possible. Many summer guests at Capps Cove also enjoy visiting the
area's 'you-pick-em' farms.
